Admissions for children with Special Educational Needs
This is for children from 3 - 5 years. Places are allocated to children from a much wider area of Surrey than for the main nursery.
The admissions procedure is:
- The child is referred to the Early Years Governance Panel at Surrey County Council using a set proforma which is submitted with supporting evidence by a professional working with the child e.g. Portage, Paediatrician, SaLT, EY SEND advisors etc.
- The child's papers are considered at a multidisciplinary panel, chaired by Surrey County Council and attended by EY SEND advisors, SaLT, Education Psychologists, Independent observers and representatives from Schools with specialist Nursery places.
- This panel sits once a year in the summer term and allocates places for the following September.
- The panel discusses the needs of each individual child and allocates places accordingly. The final decision lies with the local authority.

Parents whose children may be going through this process or who have concerns about their child's special needs are invited to phone the nursery to arrange a visit.
